Our Mission

The Manchester and District Philatelic Traders' Association was founded to promote trading among members engaged in the buying and selling of postage stamps and associated philatelic items. The association attracts dealers from a 50-mile radius around Manchester but is open to dealers from further afield who demonstrate willingness to attend monthly meetings. The association's primary focus is to facilitate trade within the philatelic community.

Our History

The Association was formed on 8th October 1968 and held its first Stamp Fair at the Houldsworth Hall on Deansgate, Manchester almost exactly one year later on Saturday, 4th October 1969. The fair became an annual event for 15 years until, in 1984, a January fair was added to the calendar. After seven years with two fairs a year a third was added in April from 1991. The pattern of three fairs in January, April, and October was established.
